ABOUT YALLAPUNK:

YallaPunk is an arts organization that has been redefining the SWANA (Southwest Asian North African) narrative since 2016. While it started out as an annual punk fest highlighting music, comedy, film, and poetry, programming has expanded into art exhibits, language conversation groups, fellowships, and more. YallaPunk just launched its Community Archive and is currently looking for physical and digital contributions. The goal is to document, preserve, and share access to celebration, stories, and moments of joy by diasporic, queer SWANA artists who have been coming together in Philadelphia and beyond. The archive holds the complexity of the queer SWANA experience in stories of resistance, triumph, and discovery of self.
