ABOUT THE FILM:
Director Frida Kempff / Sweden / 2021 / 1hr 18min / Swedish with English subtitles
‘Knocking is an elegant indictment of gaslighting culture, and Kempff uses it to take the audience to task over their own perceptions.’—Bloody Disgusting
‘With echoes of Rosemary’s Baby and Rear Window in a contemporary #MeToo world, Frida Kempff’s film is as thought-provoking as it is unnerving.’ —The Queer Review
After suffering a traumatic incident, Molly (Cecilia Milocco) moves into a new apartment to begin her path to recovery, but it’s not long after her arrival that a series of persistent knocks and screams begin to wake her up at night. Molly’s new life begins to unravel as the screams intensify and no one else in the building believes or is willing to help her.
