"Fraser Anderson is one of our favourite singer songwriters of the past decade and more. He is a wonderful live performer, with a beautiful voice and delicate guitar work that sends shivers down your spine. He also has a natural and warm rapport with his audience. He seems to be one of the UK's best kept secrets and deserves a much higher profile, which will surely come.” Ron Dukelow - TLR Shipley

Born in Scotland, Fraser’s need to create songs began as a teenager when he witnessed the tragic death of a young man he met only a few hours before. During a late night conversation with the man, he paused and asked a question that haunts Anderson to this day.

“Have you ever seen a dead body before?" A weird unexplained twist of fate perhaps, and a defining moment that must surely be at least partly responsible for driving the songwriter to search for answers through his work.

To process the extremity of the experience, the fourteen year old began writing in the back of school books as therapy. He would rip out the pages and hide them under slabs on the path to his front door.

By nineteen he was married with a new born baby. Parenting and working around the clock Fraser found rare moments to develop his craft and it wasn’t long before Scottish folk legend Dougie McLean, invited Anderson to join his band. This influenced his acclaimed debut album, ‘and the Girl with the Strawberry…, which was recorded and released in Perth, Scotland in 2003

Fraser moved to rural France in 2005 to raise the three sons he had with his wife and In 2006 he launched his second album, ‘Coming Up For Air’, hailed as “Truly beautiful” by BBC R2’s Bob Harris.

In 2010 he released his Third album ‘Little Glass Box’, featuring the legendary Danny Thompson on double bass (John Martyn) “Quite brilliant” - Folk Radio.

Support tours have included Joan Armatrading, Pete Doherty, Italian artist Niccolo Fabi, and the legendary Chuck Berry on his 2010 European tour.

Fraser divorced and moved to Bristol where he now lives with his new partner and his three boys.

He released ‘Under the Cover of Lightness’ in 2016 and was voted album of the week by BBC Radio Ulster.

Likened to Damien Rice, Nick Drake, Bon Iver and Joni Mitchels melodic movement, Fraser’s poetic honesty weaves throughout his music. Audiences have described his live performances as deeply moving and uplifting and for some, the best live show they have ever experienced.

His 5th studio album, ‘All We Are’, was released independently after Anderson walked away from his record labels five year deal.

So for the first time in his topsy turvy career, Fraser Anderson is excited and ready to step away from the label he’s so often had placed upon him of being the UK’s best kept secret.
