The Family Stone is about an uptight, liberal businesswoman accompanies her boyfriend to his eccentric and outgoing family’s annual Christmas celebration and finds that she’s a fish out of water in their free-spirited way of life. It features a queer couple, Thad and Patrick, who are planning to grow their family. As we gather with chosen family Thanksgiving weekend, this film reminds us of the importance of love, acceptance, and the family we create along the way.
Cinewilde is a volunteer-run film collective that screens a LGBTQ+ film every month at The Texas Theatre. We want to bring the community together and celebrate LGBTQ+ representation on the big screen.
