About this Event

The CIEH Foundation Certificate in Food Safety (Level 2) is suitable for anyone working in the food industry. Everyone who works with food has to protect the health and well-being of consumers. This course will help ensure that the food you sell is safe from anything that can cause harm.

Who is this course for?

  • Newcastle-based food businesses
  • Anyone looking to build on or refresh previous food safety training, or those currently working with food, who have no prior training.
  • Anyone involved in preparing, cooking, serving or selling food and drinks.
  • Self-employed food-based small business owners

Course overview

This course provides practical, efficient and comprehensive food safety training for all types of food businesses. The course covers the minimum industry standards for practices and procedures expected of any food handler or food business owner, including:
food hazards, contamination & cross-contamination, safe food handling, food storage, food allergens & managing allergen risk, personal hygiene, pest control, cleaning and food safety law.
The course reinforces the importance of food safety and provides an understanding of how to identify and control food safety hazards in the workplace.
