BIOS
Emmalee Odom has a BM in Bassoon Performance from FSU and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Bassoon Performances and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, where she studies with George Sakakeeny. She has performed with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and the Albany Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, she was the first prize winner of the Pensacola Music Study Club Solo Competition. Her teachers include Jeff Keesecker, Abigail Walker, and Joy Hoffman.
Christopher Tavernier made his orchestral debut with the Tar River Philharmonic at the age of thirteen performing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1. In addition to being a solo performer, he is also a dedicated chamber musician. Christopher has won numerous competitions throughout the Appalachian region and Southeastern US, including the young artist division at the state MTNa competition in Florida. Christopher received his BM in Piano Performance from Florida State University studying with Dr. Read Gainsford, before going to New York to study for a year with Reiko Aizawa at Brooklyn College, the pianist of the widely acclaimed Horszowski Trio. He will be continuing his studies in the fall pursuing a Masters of Music in Piano Performance & Literature from the Eastman School of Music, studying with Dr. Douglas Humpherys. Outside of the practice room, Christopher enjoys being outdoors and playing chess.
