Christopher Hopper graduated from Baldwin-Wallace University’s Conservatory of Music in 1985, served as an infantry officer in the US Army from 1986 to 1989 and received his MFA in Creative Writing from Bowling Green State University in 1993. Since then, he has taught college composition as an adjunct at various community colleges and universities before arriving in Prescott in 2024 where he has been teaching at ERAU since Fall of 2025.
Chris has been an active musician as a guitarist and bassist for longer than he’d care to admit. Hopper has performed Blues, Americana, and various other genres of music up and down the mid-Atlantic region of the East coast, extensively in the Chicago area and in the Southwest.
Whether on stage or off, he's happiest with an instrument in his hands, a chord progression, and space to explore.
