Celebrate a 1940’s Christmas with Renfrew! Explore what life was like for Emma & Edgar Nicodemus, Waynesboro’s citizens, and the nation at the height of WWII. Discover the beloved Christmas traditions Americans kept alive in the face of adversity. What made the perfect gift for men and women in the service? How did they send gifts to loved ones overseas? In what ways did families keep in touch? How did they keep the festive spirit of Christmas alive during troubling times? Learn all this and more while enjoying refreshments from original wartime recipes. This warm and festive evening is the perfect way to welcome the holiday season! Presented by WWII Historian Sarah Lee and Renfrew’s Kirsten Lamb. The presentation will take place between the Wagon Shed Room and Main Gallery inside the Visitors Center.
