We are thrilled to be performing in Anchorage for the very first time, bringing our one-of-a-kind concert “Christmas with Bandura” to your community.
Experience the magic, warmth, and spirit of a Ukrainian Christmas through the unforgettably beautiful sound of Bandura — Ukraine’s national instrument and a symbol of centuries-old resilience, hope, and cultural pride.
More than just an instrument, Bandura tells the story of a nation. This unique 65-string instrument carries echoes of Ukraine’s rich past — from the wandering Kobzars, blind minstrels, to today’s bandura artists who continue to unite audiences around the world.
In our Christmas with Bandura charity concert you will be transported to a Ukrainian music wonderland filled with traditional Christmas carols (kolyadky and shchedrivky), festive arrangements, and soul-stirring melodies. This is more than a concert — it’s a celebration of heritage, community, and the enduring power of Ukrainian bandura music.
The concert features renowned, professional and talented bandura players and a family duo:
Ostap Stakhiw, the National Artist of Ukraine and his daughter Solomia Stahiv.
Together, we will perform traditional and contemporary Ukrainian carols, blending intricate harmonies and instrumentals in a performance that will leave audiences inspired.
This benefit concert is part of the U.S. benefit holiday tour organized by BandurArts, U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Ukrainian bandura music and culture through education, performance, and artistic collaboration.
We are proud to host this concert in St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church to bring both the Ukrainian and English-speaking community together during this magical Christmas and holiday season!
This concert series is both a celebration and a cause — proceeds and donations from the Christmas with Bandura concert will directly support Ukrainе and Ukrainian humanitarian initiatives in the U.S. and Ukraine.
We cannot wait to carol with you! Reserve your seats early — these concerts will be a highlight of the holiday season!
