Our traditional Christmas get together, with seasonal snacks, quizzes, a book sale and a number of short talks from branch members including: “The Essex Regiment and the first Christmas Truce”; Mark will be talking about how the FWW and it's aftermath affected the use of paper currency in Britain and beyond; Jim with be talking about a trench raid by the 6th Londons in the Ypres area and maybe more! I have a talk about Southend United football players in the Great War in reserve. No admission fee, so you can save the money for books! Why not bring a friend and introduce them to our meetings.
