Festival Place will be ROCKING this Christmas with a seasonal celebration of music and merriment! Toes will be tapping and sides will be swinging as beats and melodies fill the centre in the lead up to the big day.Christmas Rocks will launch on the 16th November with a whole host of characters and choirs to make you smile and dance. From Rockabilly Reindeers and Tinsel Twist dancers that’ll get everyone swinging, to the hilarious ‘Christmas Wrappers’ leading Christmas ‘wraps’ to home made beats. Mrs Christmas will also be on hand to spot seasonal lip-synching talent alongside her side kick with all the moves - Elf-is!
For those who love a singalong, there will be community choirs - Rock Choir and Sing Now Choir - to come and support, and the radiant Rockin Robin acapella singers who will be leading classic Christmas tunes with harmonious aplomb!
If you prefer your music in your headphones, join the perfectly pitched Pudlet Elves who will be leading silent disco sessions for people to ROCK OUT from 2pm - 4pm on the launch day and each Saturday in the lead up to Christmas. With Christmas craft sessions from 11am - 2pm, there will be something for everyone in this welcoming Christmas Rockin’ spot - even a GIANT boombox to get your fab festive selfies!
The Musication Station, Anvil Arts' drop-in music project will be setting up on the Upper Level. They provide a range of electric and acoustic instruments for people of all ages and abilities to try, staffed by professional musicians, participants are supported in their exploration and learning. Just pop in to have a go at playing a range of instruments!
So come and join in the fun this Christmas - because Christmas Rocks at Festival Place!
