Enjoy getting into the festive spirit whilst taking some much needed time to slow down in this 3 week class. December can be very hectic and tough on mental health, with busy schedules and pressure to keep up the pace. Take a step back and make some time for yourself and join us in the 3 week course where you'll slowly piece together fabric scraps, eventually transforming them into a festive stocking measuring approx 48x3cm.
You will learn:
How to patchwork fabric together and create you own unique design
What you'll need to bring
-45 x 120 cm cotton for the lining of your stocking (extra can be used for the patch working)
-45 x 120 cm thin cotton wadding
-4 or 5 fat quarters or other fabric scraps to use for your project
-Matching thread with which to sew your project
-A sewing kit including scissors or rotary cutter, a quick unpick, pins, tailors chalk or fabric pen, tape measure or ruler, spare needles for your sewing machine. Kit is available to borrow if you don't have your own.
-A sewing machine (if you don't have one you can choose to hire one from us for £10)
£85 for 3 weeks. This course is aimed at confident beginners
Classes run for 3 weeks, on Tuesday 26th November, 3rd and 10th December from 6.30 - 8.45pm at Saint Wilfrids Community Centre, Coltsgate Hill, Ripon HG4 2AB.
