Take a step back in time and explore Christmas traditions and preparations of the past! As you stroll through historic Railroad Town, you'll experience what Christmas might have looked like in the 1890s. The homes will be decorated for the holiday with wreaths, holly, and bright red bows about the house, but what about a Christmas tree? Be sure to stop in the Town Hall to visit Father Christmas and make a paper chain, visit the Mercantile to finish out your holiday shopping, and so much more! Then, visit the Leo. B. Stuhr Building for a modern Christmas experience! Explore the Fantasy of Trees display and vote for your favorite to win the People's Choice award AND a $500 donation to the non-profit organization of their choice. Enjoy the sounds of Christmas, from music to Santa’s occasional ‘ho-ho-hos’ as he greets kids (and adults!) and listens to their holiday wishes, and take in some beautiful artwork by Nebraska artist Wendy Hall in her exhibit, Home and Down the Road a Bit.
Christmas Past & Present is open to the public on December 7, 8, 13 & 14. Tickets are $15 per person ages 6 - adult. Stuhr Museum members receive free admission! Tickets can be purchased upon arrival for the event - no presale tickets will be sold. For more information, visit www.stuhrmuseum.org.
