ABOUT THE MIZEN FOUNDATION:
Sixteen years ago, Jimmy left home to walk the five minutes to his local shops and sadly never returned home again. Jimmy was murdered in an unprovoked attack that shocked the community and devastated his family and friends. Headlines not only covered his tragic death but also the response from his parents, when they spoke openly and compassionately about the need for forgiveness rather than anger and revenge. Since this time, the Mizen family has worked tirelessly to keep Jimmy’s name alive and dedicated their lives to working for forgiveness, peace, and hope via their charitable work, which has changed the lives of thousands of young people. They inspire young people to be the change makers and peacemakers and show the positive difference each of us can make in our communities.
