A Christmas on the Western Front.Christmas on the Front is a new annual event inspired by the history of World War One and World War Two, set amidst the Historic Ramparts of Priddy’s Hard, a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Our goal is to vividly bring the stories of the Western Front to life through immersive experiences, including reenactments of skirmishes and the iconic 1914 Christmas Truce.
This event will offer visitors a truly immersive experience, with vendors and traders playing a central role in creating a festive atmosphere. We are committed to providing the public with a diverse and authentic experience that captures the spirit of the season and period.
The event features:
Live period music from both WW1 and WW2;
A replica trench for reenactments and storytelling;
Two on-site bars, including one set in an Ammunition Magazine;
Food vendors;
Outdoor artisan market;
Indoor market;
Military vehicles on display;
Talks and presentations;
Carol singing and immersive activities.
We are delivering the reenactment of the 1914 Christmas Truce within our Trench where the public and engage with the poignent story in a personal way.
