A Christmas Lantern Trail is coming to Ansley - thanks to The Big Local legacy project.
We are honoured to offer a free community event. This year's event will incorporated a magical lantern trail walk, mulled wine, hot chocolates and mince pies, a visit to St Laurence Church to see the Christmas Tree Festival and wonderful carols sung by local opera star Dale & friends.
This year we will have a leisurely walk upto St Laurence Church finishing with a hot drink and a sing along at Hood Lane Farm.
Meeting at Hood Lane Farm at 4.30pm.
4.00pm Site open for hot drinks, mince pies and lantern trail prep
4.30pm Lantern Trail walkers set off
5pm Arrive at St Laurence Church
5.10pm View Christmas Tree Festival - donation of £2.00 entry
5.30pm Carols at the church
5.45pm Walk back to Hood Lane Farm
6pm Carols, sing-a-long, mince pies and hot drinks
7pm Close
The event is free and dog friendly. All children under 16 years old to be supervised.
You are most welcome to come along to just carols at Hood Lane Farm if you do wish to walk. Please bring along a lantern, twinkle lights or torch if you have one. Prize for the most original lantern!
The walk will be roughly 20-30 minutes at a comfortable/ slow pace, parts of the walk from Hood Lane Farm, down Hood Lane, then onto Church End arriving at St Laurence church - so boots or wellies are advised! Plus warm clothing advised.
The Coffee Hut will be open serving a variety of hot drinks, festive hot chocolate menu, mulled wine, mince pies and seasonal sweet treats. Jacket potato pop up on site too!
