About this Event
Why we love mending:
It’s cost-effective. You're repairing instead of replacing.
It’s an act of self-care.It’s a moment of slow, mindful making.
It’s creative. You make the item uniquely yours.
It's therapeutic. Darning is a calming, creative process — a soothing way to unwind while building a useful skill.
It’s sustainable.Repairing just one wool jumper instead of replacing it can save over 50,000 litres of water—the amount typically used to produce a new one.
What to expect:
In this workshop, Marina from @the.fabric.folk will guide you through visible darning techniques, show inspiring samples, and help you explore the tools, materials, and colours to get started.
What to bring:
Please bring 1-2 woollen knitted items from home to mend — a jumper, cardigan, scarf or pair of socks with holes, stains, or thinning areas. All mending materials provided.
