Join us for a great day out at historic Greenwich this Christmas. In the local area you can visit the Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, the Old Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum, check out Greenwich Park, or look around the famous Greenwich Market. The whole area will be all Christmassy, and there are great restaurants around for lunch. If you prefer, you can stay in the Greenwich Town Social Club, which will be our pick up point back home, and who will be laying on raffles and music in the afternoon for us.Logistics:
- Leaving Walderslade Club at 11:15am
- Drop off one Greenwich Town Social Club
- Drop off two near to the Cutty Sark down the road
- Live music & raffles at Greenwich Town Social Club 2-4pm (to be arranged)
- Pick up Greenwich Town Social Club 5.30pm
- Back at Walderslade Club beford 6.30pm, if traffic is with us.
Please be aware that the pick up point is a 20 minutes walk from the central market area (less than a mile). The walk is flat and by the Thames, so is pretty. You do not need to be a CIU member to use the club. Note that there is no food served usually at the club, however they are happy to prepare some for anyone staying for the afternoon - please let the organiser know if you need any food organised, and any dietary requirements.
Seats on the coach are £20. Please see John Tootell for a seat, the seat is only guaranteed once you have paid in full. We can take cash or card. Our Christmas trips are usually popular, so book early to guarantee a seat on the coach.
