Can you help support on the day of our festive Christmas event.
We are looking for volunteer support to help with a variety of roles at our Christmas Fayre event.
Event: Forget Me Not Christmas Fayre on Sunday 24th November 2024
Venue: Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, Russell House, Fell Greave Road, Huddersfield. HD2 1NH.
O n the day roles
Volunteering Date: Sunday 24th November 2024
Times: 11pm - 4pm (timings of each role will vary slightly)
Roles: entrance volunteer, stall volunteer, refreshment volunteer and Santa's grotto volunteer
Entrance volunteer - To assist by collecting entrance fee (£2 adults/children free), advising people to park offsite unless accessible parking is required, allowing key members of the event to enter the car park such as the performers. PLEASE NOTE - this role is outdoors.
Stall volunteer (various stalls) - To assist with selling branded merchandise, raffle tickets or on our bottle tombola, to take payments by cash and card. To ensure the stalls are manned at all times.
Refreshment volunteer - To assist with serving hot drinks, mince pies and cakes, tidying up rubbish from the seating area and to take payments by cash and card. To ensure the café area is manned at all times.
Santa's Grotto volunteer - To assist with the Santa's grotto, manning the queue, taking payments, assisting Santa taking presents. (Elf outfit provided)

Can I wear something festive?
Yes, if you have a christmas jumper or a festive hat please feel free to wear this on the day.
I would like to volunteer, however I will struggle to get childcare, can my child volunteer as well?
This will depend on the child's age.
Anyone 14 or above can volunteer as long as we have consent from a parent or guardian. If you would like to volunteer and bring your children (under 14 years old) along with you, they cannot register as a volunteer and will not be given a volunteer role, they can attend with you, however, they are your sole responsibility, please consider whether you can fulfill the volunteer role as well as look after the child. If you are unsure and want to discuss please contact us.
I am unable to stand for long periods of time, is there a role I can support with?
There might be measures we can put in place in order for you to be able to support still, please contact us to discuss which role might be suitable.
