Come and create stylish embossed tin Christmas Decorations at this lovely workshopJoin designer and creative director Susan Bradley to create unique Christmas decorations from tin that you can adorn your Christmas tree with, hang dotted around your home, make into a festive garland, or use to decorate the Christmas table.
Inspired by Susans award-winning metal designs, these hand-made Christmas decorations are made from thin sheets of tin that you can cut and hand-emboss easily by hand. Susan has developed her signature metal cut-out creations into gorgeous festive and wintry shapes inspired by Scandinavian design, folk art and nature.
Susan will show you how to cut and emboss the metal sheet by hand. You will also get a series of guide sheets to use as templates so you can simply create a series of the designs provided. Or you can use your drawing skills to create your own designs within the workshop and then apply your design to the tin to create your own unique designs.
All materials and equipment will be provided for you to create a set of 6 to 8 hanging decorations.
What to bring along:
No prior experience is required, and you don't need to bring anything, as there will be templates of designs for you to use and all materials supplied for you. This is a workshop that is fun for everyone.
If you want to bring along any of your own inspiration or images to work from for your own designs then please do.
The cafe will be open for the evening, and you'll be able to buy delicious cakes, mince pies and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy as you create.
About the artist:
Susan Bradley is a designer and artist based and from Yorkshire. Her award winning metal designs range from large scale exterior wall installations to small interior products. Her clients include museum and art galleries around the world, along with companies such as Donna Karen New York, Urban Outfitters, Christian Louboutin and Harvey Nichols (for who she designed the backdrop to their infamous Christmas windows 15 years ago)
Her designs have been sold in museums including the V&A, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Baltic, National Portrait Gallery and London Transport Museum.
She first developed her Christmas tin decoration workshop over a decade ago for an Arts Council funded museum project in Lincolnshire
