Join our rangers for a festive, family-friendly stroll as we explore the winter skies during our Christmas Constellation Hike! Utilizing the free SkyGuide, Stellarium, or Sky Safari Apps, we'll take in the sparkling constellations above, while listening to the holiday tales and legends associated with them.We’ll be hiking an easy, 1.6-mile roundtrip section of the Upper Comanche Trail, perfect for all ages. Make sure to download the SkyGuide, Stellarium, or Sky Safari Apps ahead of time so you can fully enjoy the celestial wonders around us!
Things You Should Know:
Meet: Upper Comanche, at the Mack Dick Pavilion Parking Lot.
Download: The free SkyGuide, Stellarium, or Sky Safari Apps before the hike.
Bring: Comfortable walking/hiking shoes or boots (they may get sandy), plenty of water, and weather-appropriate, comfortable clothing.
Cost: Free with park admission. Admission is waived with a Texas State Park Pass (purchased before the event).
This program may be canceled due to weather.
