We again will have the pleasure of hosting soprano Christine Dalli and pianist Maria Elena Farrugia who performed last year to an enthused audience. Christine, who was born in St Julian's, began her musical career as a child. She joined the Cantores Sancti Juliani under the direction of baritone Lino Attard. She went on to study under soprano Andriana Yordanova and soprano Luciana Serra in Switzerland. Presently she is coached by renowned soprano Juliette Bisazza in Malta and the internationally acclaimed soprano Ines Salazar in Rome.
Christine has participated in masterclasses with Soprano Miriam Gauci, Prof. Laura Sarti and Prof Wolfgang Holzmair among others. She formed part of the Manoel Theatre Monteverdi Project as well as of the MSOM Opera Studio in Malta. She was one of the finalists of the Malta International Voice Competition in 2016.
She sang in various international concerts, festivals, as well as an American TV station and has been accompanied by various orchestras in Italy, Austria, Belgium and Malta. She has interpreted the roles of Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni and Suor Angelica by Puccini and is presently preparing for various roles in various operas. Christine sang for various diplomats and recently she sang for Pope Francis in Brussels for the event Hope Happening. Presently, she is touring in Belgium where her career has taken flight in various places around the country.
Our Lady of Victory church is known for its perfect acoustics, but it is a small church. We therefore recommend early booking for this concert to avoid disappointment.
