Join us for a Christmas event at the Consulate General, where we will bring together the Slovak community and its friends, Christmas carols and traditions — and support a good cause!

✨ What to look forward to:

🎶 Christmas carols performed by children from the Language Center at BCBSA in Astoria:
Enjoy a charming performance by the children of the Language Center at BCBSA in Astoria, who will create a beautiful holiday atmosphere with their singing of traditional Slovak carols.

🎤 Musical performance by the jazz band Music Beyond Borders, led by Lenka Molčányiová and Ester Wiesnerová:
Experience a unique performance by Slovak and American jazz musicians who will bring festive cheer and a relaxed jazz vibe to the evening.

• Daniel Mayer – double bass
• Mattia Müller – drums

The evening’s special guest will be the wonderful singer Tamara Kramar.

💙 Fundraising to support young musicians in Slovakia:
Christmas is a time of peace, joy, and generosity. The evening will also support the nonprofit organization Music Beyond Borders (“Za hranice s hudbou”), which helps young Slovak artists — educating them in jazz and popular music, fostering their creativity, and supporting their involvement in the music community.

The organization was founded in 2017 by three Slovak jazz musicians — Ester Wiesnerová, Lenka Molčányiová, and Mária Reháková, who currently work professionally in the USA. Your participation and financial contributions will directly support scholarships for young artists and the development of the organization’s educational activities.

Contributions will be collected via the Darujme.sk platform and through a silent auction.

🤫 Silent Auction
During the fundraiser, you can participate in a silent auction featuring many interesting and unique items — perfect as Christmas gifts or delightful surprises for yourself. All proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to support Slovak artists.

🥠 Traditional mulled wine or tea and Christmas refreshments
To enhance the festive atmosphere, traditional Slovak Christmas treats will be served.

🎁 A small Christmas surprise will be prepared for every guest at the end.
