About this Event
Light your creative spark and join Dead Puppet Society for a Christmas beetle making workshop.
Under the guidance of Dead Puppet Society’s artisans at their Fabrication Workshop, you will choose elements of your beetle and then observe the material cut out on the laser cutter, seeing first-hand how laser-cutting technologies are used to build the puppets and props for stage productions. You will then assemble your shiny beetle friend inside a glass dome. Gain an insight into the basic principles of puppet design, and how to bring your beetle to life.
Celebrate the colour and beauty of Australia's most iconic beetle in this hands-on holiday-themed experience combining the craftsmanship of puppetry with the expertise of talented artisans.
Gain a glimpse into the world of design-led theatre that Dead Puppet Society is renowned for, and learn from the masterminds behind box office hits Holding Achilles, Ishmael, The Wider Earth, and the Australian Premiere of Disney's Peter and the Starcatcher.
We have four dates available for this DPS Social: 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th December 2024.
TICKETING
Tickets include bar service and all required materials.
This event is designed for guests 18+ due to the inclusion of complimentary bar service. Please contact Dead Puppet Society directly if you wish to attend with younger guests. DPS Social is not suitable for guests under 15 years of age.
