Join Huntington State Beach Lifeguard Association and Bolsa Chica State Beach for the annual Christmas at the Beach!

WHEN: Saturday December 7 2024

TIME: 3:00 - 6:00 PM

WHERE: Beach City Provisions at Bolsa Chica State Beach

PICTURES WITH SANTA ON HIS JET SKI: Santa will arrive from the North Pole with his lifeguard elves to take photos with you on his jet ski! Truly a California Christmas. Santa will take photos from 3:00-5:00 pm before he heads back to the North Pole.

HOLIDAY KARAOKE: Spread holiday cheer by singing loud for all to hear! Karaoke to your favorite holiday classics at the beach.

CHRISTMAS TREE RAFFLE: Make sure you're on the nice list by participating in a short beach cleanup. Volunteers earn a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Christmas tree or a holiday wreath. The winner will be announced at 5:00 pm must be present to win.

BOUNCE HOUSE: Get all your kids holiday energy out in this free bounce house. Kids only.

BUBBLE SNOW: Play in the (bubble) snow!

CRAFTS AND GAMES: Make a holiday magnet for your fridge with your Santa photos. Learn about the birds of the beach through interactive games!

FOOD AND BEVERAGES AT BEACH CITY PROVISIONS: Grab some snacks and a cup of holiday cheer at Provisions while you enjoy the event.

OUTDOOR MOVIE SCREENING: After Santa leaves at 5 pm and the sun sets there will be an outdoor showing of a holiday short movie How to Train Your Dragon: Gift of the Night Fury. There are chairs on site but subject to availability so secure your spot when you arrive. Bring a blanket to keep cozy while you enjoy the short movie. The movie last approximately 22 minutes.

Celebrate the holidays at your local state park Bolsa Chica State Beach. Huntington State Beach Lifeguard Association is a subdivision of the California State Lifeguard Association (CSLA) and supports the 100+ California State Lifeguards stretched along Huntington and Bolsa Chica State Beaches. HSBLA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing public education on water and beach safety as well as supporting our lifeguard competition teams. Each summer our members make over 4000 aquatic rescues along the 5 miles of Huntington and Bolsa Chica State Beaches.

• WHERE IS BEACH CITY PROVISIONS? Beach City Provisions is located at Bolsa Chica State Beach (17851 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA, 92649). From the entrance gate keep to the left and follow the park road south to the first lot you pass next to Towers 20 and 19. Park here. Provisions is the large building on the south side of the parking lot.

• PARKING: From the entrance gate keep to the left and follow the park road south to the first lot you pass. Park in this lot. If this lot is full keep going south past the campground to the next lot over next to Tower 17 and 18. Park here and walk over to Provisions.

• WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Winter at the beach can be cold and windy. Wear layers and if you are staying for the movie, consider bringing a blanket to keep warm. 

• IS THIS EVENT FREE? Yes, this is a free event. There is no charge to attend. All activities such as photos with Santa, the bounce house, beach cleanup tree raffle, movie, karaoke, crafts, and games are free.

• EVENT TIME: The event runs from 3:00 pm and completely ends by 6:00 pm. Photos with Santa and other activities happen from 3:00-5:00 pm. At 5:00 pm, Santa will leave and activity booths will close to prepare for the movie. The Christmas tree raffle winner will be announced, and we will begin the movie around 5:15-5:30 pm.

• ARE DOGS ALLOWED? As long as your companion is on-leash, not on the sand, and well behaved they are more than welcome to join us. According to California State Parks, animals are not allowed on the beach (dogs are not allowed on the sand but are allowed on the multi-use trails and in Provisions) and must remain on-leash at all times. Please consider that we often have many other dogs, large crowds, children, loud music, and other wildlife at the beach so if this environment is too much for your animal, consider leaving them at home. Also, we ask that you are a responsible pet owner and clean up after your pet or you both will be asked to leave.
