In Fall 2023, the museum collections team worked with Conservator Terry Brown to learn how to clean and preserve the museum’s taxidermy collection. Collections Manager Christina Grev illustrates the process of testing these specimens for heavy metals, cleaning the mounts, and restoring our 1917 golden eagle and the famous boxing squirrels.
Christina Grev received her BA in European History at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a dual master’s degree in Library Science and Public History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A native Minnesotan, she now works as the Museum Specialist-Collections and Education at The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums.
