Join Open Table Faith for a very special two-night learning opportunity featuring Jae Jerkins, Professor of Religion and Philosophy at Tyler Junior College. Part One (Feb 6) will focus on Jews in the first Century and Part Two (Feb 23) will focus on Romans and Rome -- exploring how each side contributes to the rise of Christianity. These talks will present scholarly a scholarly perspective, but are very much accessible to the general public, and will provide opportunity for questions and dialogue.ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Professor Jae Jerkins is a philosopher and intellectual historian whose work transcends cultural and disciplinary boundaries. His career spans multiple continents, engaging audiences in churches, mosques, synagogues and universities through both teaching and research. An observant and proud Jew with postgraduate certification from the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies, he holds multiple advanced degrees from Florida State University and has published peer-reviewed scholarship, earning teaching endowments, fellowships, and numerous awards along the way. Drawing on global experiences, interdisciplinary expertise, and a genuine love of humankind, Jae is deeply committed to fostering intercultural understanding. Above all, he is guided by the belief that our world -- brimming with complexity and promise -- is worthy of our time, love, and sacrifice.
