Guest Speaker
Rachael Marek
Rachael Marek was born and raised in the Capital Region and graduated from SUNY Albany with a degree in business marketing. Following college, she moved to Nashville, TN, to pursue her dream of becoming a country music singer. Her music earned national radio play, which opened doors for her to transition into the business side of the industry, focusing on artist management. Over six years, Rachael honed her marketing and PR expertise while working as a management assistant at a boutique artist management company. In this role, she contributed to the launch of a #1 Billboard country album and helped manage national radio campaigns for major label country artists.
While in Nashville, Rachael felt a calling to help teenagers in the foster care system. She leveraged her marketing and public relations expertise, along with connections in the country music industry, to found Project Foster Dignity—a nonprofit focused on empowering teenagers in the foster care system to envision and pursue brighter futures. After returning to Upstate New York, she met her husband, welcomed her daughter—who is the light of her life—and now serves as the Community Engagement Coordinator for Her Song Capital District. Her Song’s mission is to interrupt the cycle of human trafficking by empowering survivors with holistic support to champion their journey toward freedom.
Rachael is honored to be able to use her skills and experience to help others, and she remains deeply committed to making a lasting impact in the lives of those she serves.
