Christchurch Speakers Monthly Meet Up

Our meetings and motto are simple: You can't get it wrong at Christchurch Speakers!

We provide people a platform to practice speeches, workshops, poems, readings, share stories, do what you like. Everyone get to speak and everyone get a chance to give written feedback to help each other get better.

We have the whole kaleioscope from experienced to inexperienced speakers so everyone can feel welcome and comfortable as they have a go. There is no leader, there is no hierarchy or admin, we are organised so you can just turn up and do your thing.

A typical meeting consists of:

7:00 Welcome

7:05 Icebreaker

7:15 Prepared Speech

7:25 Reading

7:30 Workshop usually on something speaking related including drama, comedy, speaking skills

7:50 Break - tea and bikkies provided

8:00 Workshop usually on something speaking related including drama, comedy, speaking skills

8:20 Impromptu Speaking

8:40/45 Close

Bring a friend or workmate or partner. $5 charge to cover the overheads or join for a year for $40 (11 meetings). We are a not-for-profit and can provide some one on one help or advice if required.
