About this Event
Did Christ, Buddha, and Bahá’u’lláh bring spiritual teachings that are unrelated, competing, or even in opposition to each other? Or are they – and other prophets and divine teachers – all bringing a continuous message of divine guidance to help lead humanity on its unfolding spiritual path?
While many people recognize the common ground that exists among the various spiritual and religious traditions of the world, are they actually part of one continuously unfolding process of divine revelation meant to help humanity grow and address the challenges of the times we live in? If so, how can we understand the role of the spiritual teachers of the past and recognize the one for today?
In a conversation that is free and open to all, we will explore the perspective of the Bahá’í Teachings that throughout human history, a series of divine teachers has been sent to continuously guide humanity towards progress and unity, teachers like Christ, Buddha, Bahá’u’lláh, Krishna, and Muhammad – but also those from indigenous and traditional religions in every part of the world. Bahá’ís believe that each teacher brought a message that was needed for the age in which they came, and that Bahá’u’lláh – the founder of the Bahá’í Faith – is only the latest spiritual teacher guiding humanity in its continuous spiritual journey.
What to Expect?
After a brief introduction, we will examine a short selection of readings from the Bahá’í Writings as a jumping off point for what is sure to be a lively discussion on how the religions of the past are part of an ongoing learning process for humanity and how the most recent message shared by Bahá’u’lláh is the latest source of divine guidance. We will also have some time together to explore more deeply the Bahá’í Teachings, so join us with your questions, thoughts, and a desire to connect with others in your area who want to explore this topic as well!
“Bahá’u’lláh has drawn the circle of unity, He has made a design for the uniting of all the peoples, and for the gathering of them all under the shelter of the tent of universal unity.” – The Bahá’í Writings
