It was on a tour stop through Florence, Alabama in 2022 when Chrissi Poland decided she needed to return and make a record in Muscle Shoals.Stopping through Fame Studios to take the tour, being in the room where some of the greatest soul records were ever made, Chrissi experienced an emotional and visceralreaction. Above all, the feeling is what I connect to most deeply. Soul music isn't just a genre, but more so an experience of human emotion. It demands that you be raw, real and connected if you're going to do it.
