CHRIS KNITE & THE CHRIS KNITE BAND

OFFICIAL LISTENING PARTY FOR CHRIS KNITE

Ready for the next King of R&B? Look no further than Jacksonville, Florida native Chris Knite. He’s an authentic entertainer with amazing vocal prowess, who understands the value of hard work, and has a penchant for giving back to his community. The 33-year-old is an old soul, but please don’t call his sound “smooth” or “old school.” While there’s nothing wrong with such labels, Chris is building his own brand as a contemporary singer. He wants to make a name for himself and stand out as your next soul singer. He wants you to close your eyes, let his voice enrapture you and forget your troubles. Chris’s style is one of a polished gentleman – custom suits, dark shades, immaculately trimmed beard, minimal jewelry, and quality shoes. This “big, masculine guy” — as he calls himself — wants to change the narrative that big guys can’t dress fly. And he loves a good silk shirt! His attention to detail is an investment that’s clearly paying off given his legion of loyal fans. They welcome his modern style and notice the details. Born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Dublin, Georgia, life wasn’t always easy, but Chris has managed to turn his obstacles into stepping-stones. He always had athirst for music, but his Plan A was to play professional football. After getting sidelined with an injury in high school, he started to take his love of music to the next level. That setback was a setup for him to start fulfilling his musical dreams. It was during a Greyhound Bus ride from Cleveland to Georgia at age 5 that proved to be pivotal in his musical career. During the 700-mile trip with his mom and sister, his mom was thoughtful enough to bring a Boyz II Men cassette tape for Chris to listen to. With it on repeat during the trek, he started singing to thebus riders, who then showered him with cash in amazement of his young talent. Like many R&B vocalists, Chris started singing in his church choir at a young age. By age 12, he started writing songs and never looked back. Despite his lack of formal musical education, Chris has a natural ear for lyrical composition and melodies. His sister wrote poetry, and his dad was a tailor for The O’Jays for several years before Chris was born. Growing up, Chris was heavily influenced by the music and stage presence of Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, BarryWhite, and Gerald Levert. Born Christopher Johnson, his football coaches called him CJ. In 2011, once he started singing professionally, his dad told him that he had a voice similar to Brian McKnight. He suggested to Chris that he change his name but with a twist. Thus,Chris Knite. During his early twenties, Chris bounced around from working promotions, brieflyattending college, and joining a musical group. But it was networking that proved to be the gateway to land him as the opening act for several performers. Word spread about his talent and calls came flooding in about singing hooks for artists like 2 Chainz and French Montana. He understood how to form relationships before he was even professionally managed.Chris Knite is a humble guy who has put in the work. He used to sleep in studios just to get a chance to work with artists. At 23 years old, he penned his first song, “It’s Over” about a relationship gone awry after a cheating scandal. In 2019, this multi-hyphenate artist was Grammy-considered for his song, “Ready for Love.” R&B singer Anthony Hamilton even co-signed his talent by shouting him out on stage at a recent concert. It’s those connections that have propelled Chris to stardom. He wants his records to be timeless and welcomes opportunities to showcase his talents. Aside from his deep love for music, Chris is also a philanthropist who continuously gives back to his Dublin community through food giveaways and free concerts. Giving back is ingrained in him because he knows that he’s blessed, andopportunities have been abundant. Seeing his mother struggle as he grew up, and her working multiple jobs to provide for him and his sister, motivated him to stay connected to the people. When he’s not performing for tens of thousands of screaming fans, Chris is an avid writer for other artists as well as himself. He’s currently on tour with Erykah Badu but has graced the stage of artists like K. Michelle, Anthony Hamilton, R. Kelly, Young Jeezy, Avant, Young Ralph, The Isely Brothers, Kem, and Joe. Chris has been putting in work for years and isn’t holding back anytime soon. With the support and expertise of his management, Moses Media Group, and his newly-formed label, Knite Vision, Chris is destined to become a household name in the near future.
