The opening will include a brief presentation by David D’Agostino, visual artist, and Dr. Myrriah Gomez, author, Nuclear Nuevo Mexico.Music by Shingetsu Billy White and Dr. Luke Leavitt, sound geographer.
This work reveals the unsettling parallels between the city of Albuquerque’s nuclear weapons legacy and the intimate violence of its streets–two forms of endemic destruction, one monumental and distant, the other immediate and personal. The bomb and the bullet are both products of this nation’s contradictions: symbols of power, fear, and survival, yet rendered invisible by economic and political interests–what I refer to as Chosen Blindness. -DD
This exhibit is part of a larger series and publication ‘Topology of Violence’, co-curated by Fernanda Aranguez, editor of Publicar Como Practica, Santiago Chile, and Tracy Mackenna, Director, Museum of Loss and Renewal, Collemacchia, Italy. The publication will be launched on-line on February 4, 2026.
All work was created at Remarque Print Workshop, which has provided invaluable space, material, and technical support for the project.
