Join us for Choral Evensong, one of the treasures of the Anglican tradition, as we mark the Eve of the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels. Evensong is a sung service of evening prayer that weaves together scripture, ancient prayers, and timeless choral music. Rooted in the monastic hours of Vespers and Compline and shaped by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer for the first Book of Common Prayer in 1549, Evensong continues as one of the most cherished liturgies of Anglican Christianity.During this reflective service, the choir sings on behalf of the congregation, inviting worshippers into a time of stillness, beauty, and spiritual refreshment. The evening will also include a special Ribbon Ceremony, marking a special occasion of the promotion and advancement of choristers at our Cathedral.
