Russian pianist Alexander Karpeev presents a programme of three great Paris-based composers of the past : Chopin, Fauré and AlkanAbout this Event
Creative carriers of Frédéric Chopin, Charles-Valentin Alkan and Gabriel Fauré were all associated with Paris. Whilst Chopin's influence on early Fauré is clear, the same cannot be said about pianist-composer Alkan, who has lived in Paris at the same time as a recluse.
Written in the span of 50 years only, this concert's programme aims to make one contemplate the diversity of the composers' styles and shed a new light on the piano music by Fauré, whose centenary classical music world celebrates this year.
