Chop Sue MeNot being old enough to go through their musical blossoming during the 90s, the discordant Montreal trio Chop Sue Me quenches its thirst through this project as a return to an energetic “indie rock”, while being emancipated from belonging to any genre of music. Finding inspiration in punk, folk, noise-rock, post-punk and grunge music, the group mixes each other’s musical palettes to obtain a sound both aggressive and melodic and as nostalgic as it is modern.
The Fake Friends
The Fake Friends sound like a bunch of old hardcore guys trying to make pop songs. Yeah, on its face, that doesn't seem like it would be a good idea, but it's honestly one of the things that makes this band so fucking great. Sweet licks, infectious choruses, introspective lyrics with some epic breakdowns thrown in make for some intense and supremely addictive songs.
