Are you looking to make a change in your substance use? Have you tried and feel like the treatment you received just didn’t click? Do you have an interest in learning more about the choices available to help you make that change? Or would you like to learn more about those options that exist to help support a loved one or community member struggling with substance use?
Every year, millions of people seek help in their struggle with substance use and addiction; each of these people is an individual with their own experiences, beliefs, and personalities. However, the vast majority of rehabilitation facilities and media representations of recovery focus on recovery in a one-size-fits-all manner.

This leaves many people behind, feeling that if they are not following the direction given by their treatment center, or recovering in the manner they see represented in the media, that the fault lies with them. In reality, the truth is that people are extremely diverse, and the options available for treatment and recovery should represent that.

Please join us September 23rd at Shaw Neighborhood Library (1630 7th St NW) at 5pm for a discussion on treatment options, which will include a discussion of 12-step methods (NA/AA), Harm Reduction Works, SMART, MAT, Rational Recovery, the Sinclair Method, and more.
There will be a panel of speakers who have lived experience and comprehensive knowledge of the plethora of options in treatment possibilities, followed by a Q & A session and open discussion.
The more we know, the more effectively we can serve our communities and make choices for ourselves. We hope to see you there, either in person or online at https://www.crowdcast.io/webinars@hips.
