About this Event
For sixteen hours a day, our minds are awake and our eyes are open. During these hours information, imagery, and interactions create a constant stream of input from our digital and physical worlds that layer onto all the hours of consciousness we have already lived. While we are on the receiving end of input all day long, do we stop to ask the question:
Who decided on who would decide what I would see today?
Do I ever get to have a choice?
Do I know what my attention is worth?
How did my life come to intersect with others’ lives in this moment?
“Choices?” is a newly devised work created to examine the topics of curation, time and place, the attention economy, and autonomy. Colliding exponentially is the compounding, fleeting, embodied experiences of a layering of choices that creates the landscape of our daily lives.
