Come out to have a little chat with Fraser Lake author Doris Ray! She loves writing poetry, particularly narrative verses that focus on the trials and errors of living and working in the bush country of North-Central BC. Her two latest publications are a mix of poetry, each accompanied by related recollections. Her memoir, "An Old Dead Tree In a Gravel Pit," reflects her experiences and thoughts at the age of 86, a time she felt was right to write a memoir. Her stories and poems have intrigued readers interested in history and everyday life, both "back in the old days" and in contemporary times. The other book is a collection of humorous poetry, stories, comedic adventures, and musings titled "Battling The Elements and Other Odd Habits."
Doris invites readers to visit her blog, "Sense and Nonsense," at dorishray.com. Her previously published works include "The Ghosts Behind Him," released by Caitlin Press in 1999, which won the BC 2000 Book Award, and "Common Threads," published by Libros Libertad in 2009.
