You could easily be fooled into thinking that summer is still here, but my friends, it is September and that means we're only 3 months away from Chipmas!!It's time to begin scouring the speciality shops and small international grocers to start picking up your chips!
Chipmas grew exponentially at Chipmas II, and I expect no less this year. So, for any newcomers to the event I will once again go over the rules.
1) Participation in Chipmas is free, but all participants must bring chips!
2) Sour Cream and Onion has no place at Chipmas. We want the unique, wacky and wierd. The more obscure and harder to obtain the better.
3) The chip is not limited to the humble potato. For the purpose of the event, we will consider any crispy, savoury snack a chip. In the past this has included Nori, dried Kimchi and Plantain
4) Dips and sauces are not a requirement, but are welcome.
5) Home made chips are not only welcome, but encouraged!
Last Chipmas, we had 70 packets of unique chips from 20 countries. We hope to see that number increase again this year!
Once again, our good friends at Vaat Brewery will graciously host our crispy feast.
Tell your friends, find your chips, drink and make merry.
God bless us, everyone.
