黃順玉 Shunyu Huang, born and raised in 1989 in a southern China city, Zhuhai.
Tea has always been around as she grew up in a household drinking ripe Pu’er daily.
A whole block of Chaozhou neighbors infuse their Gongfu Cha culture in the neighborhood hair salons, butcher shops, vegetable vendors, and corner stores.
Shunyu recently rediscovered her passion and love for Chinese teas, specifically 白茶 white tea, and 鳳凰單欉 Phoenix Dancong Oolong. In April 2024, she set foot in eastern Guangdong in search of wild tea trees.
You may find her at farmers markets in-n-out of Asheville, sharing and talking about the history, and culture within and behind all the teas on the table.
