Two of the University’s established Asian music societies, the Cambridge University Gamelan Society and the Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra Society present a special joint concert celebrating the shimmering textures of traditional Javanese gamelan and the expressive richness of Chinese orchestral music.The concert will open with the Cambridge Gamelan Society playing music on the bronze gongs and metallophones of Indonesia, combining classic vocal and instrumental works from the traditional Central Javanese repertoire.
The Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra Society (CUCOS) will be performing:

“Blooming Flowers and Full Moon” (Huang Yijun)
“Ode to the Sun” – 4th movement (Wang Danhong)
“Dance of the Golden Snake” (Nie Er)
“The Impression of Chinese Music – Daqu” (Jiang Ying)
