Join Evan Watson for a Yin practice that will incorporate the 5 Chinese Elements (earth, fire, water, wood, metal).
A Yin yoga practice is mostly floor poses that emphasize flexibility, openness, and spaciousness in the body and mind. It draws attention to the hidden and quiet parts of the being. For this reason, it helps the body and mind to drop from a “doing” state and shift into a “being”
state.
Many people know Yin as mostly Earth qualities – heavy, still, limbs loose, back rounded. And while those qualities are important for the "letting go" process, incorporating the other 4 elements eases the body into the holding postures and keeps the mind alert, allowing space to
fully drop into the experience and to remain conscious throughout the process.
In addition to asana, these classes will incorporate mindfulness and pranayama guidance to
assist you in quieting the mind and feeling in the body.
