The School of Continuing Education at the British University in Egypt in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts & Humanities is offering an "𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦." 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬:
- Learners will be able to distinguish basic Chinese pronunciation rules (Pinyin initials, finals,
tones) and apply them correctly in speech.
- By the end of the program, learners will be able to identify and use 150+ basic Chinese
words and 50+ common expressions related to daily life and work scenarios.
𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬:
- Listening: Learners will be able to comprehend simple Chinese conversations in daily
scenarios, e.g. greeting, shopping, asking for directions.
- Speaking: Learners will be able to initiate and maintain short conversations on familiar
topics.
𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬:
- Learners will be able to respect Sino-Egyptian cultural differences and use appropriate
language behaviors in cross-cultural communication.
- Learners will develop self-directed learning ability (e.g., using Chinese learning apps,
practicing pronunciation independently) and maintain enthusiasm for Chinese learning.
𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
36 hours / 5 weeks
Delivery Method: Face-to-Face (F2F) on-campus format.
Delivery Language: Mixed language (Chinese and Arabic).
Prior to Ramadan : three days per week ( Sundays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays ).
During Ramadan: two days per week, (Sundays, Saturdays)
Timing :
Prior to Ramadan : From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
During Ramadan : From 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Tentative Starting Date: 25/1/2026
Tentative Ending Date: 28/2/2026
Age Range: Starting 18 and above
