A summer series of arts and food in Chinatown.
About this Event

Join Think!Chinatown (T!C) for the second event of our new summer series of art and food at the iconic gateway of the Manhattan Bridge. This new open-air cultural festival features an art installation lightbox showcasing Chinatown-focused programming alongside local street food vendors.

Our July 30th program will include live performances by singer Annie YuRong Yu and chamber ensemble Music from China. Annie will be performing Chinese classic pop hits as well as old favorites and you’ll hear traditional classical instrumental melodies from Music from China.

Photographs of our community by Cindy Trinh and Ed Cheng will be showcased on our special lightbox, along with a shadow puppet installation by Spica Wobbe and the Eastern Fuzhou Opera Association. We’ll also be showing another piece from T!C’s Art of Storytelling project, featuring the Sing-Bock family with illustrations by Jacqueline Tam, and an encore of our first Chinatown Night’s program (which ended early due to rain).

More details will be available here: www.thinkchinatown.org/nights

“Chinatown Nights” is presented in partnership with Neighborhoods Now and Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE). The event will be the pilot installment of a recurring incubation program to support local vendors, bring more foot traffic into Chinatown during weekday evenings, and help make underutilized city spaces more welcoming and accessible to the public. We appreciate your support as “Chinatown Nights” evolves into a fuller program with live public performances and more vendors. Chinatown Nights is a free ticketed event. **Thank you for your understanding as we do our best to hold a community event while some pandemic restrictions are still in place…
