Chimurenga Renaissance bring their infectious hip-hop sound to The Square at 2+U on Wednesday, Sept. 4 for the latest free Downtown Summer Sounds concert.Chimurenga Renaissance is a Zimbabwean-centered hip-hop project formed in 2012. Squishy, wet synth lines burble and wheeze against the organic sounds of mbira thumb pianos and ngoma drums evoking both urban America and sub-Saharan Africa.
The Downtown Seattle Association is proud to present Downtown Summer Sounds, our summer concert series that has been bringing free live, local music to downtown Seattle for 45 years.
