Join us for a beginner clay workshop at Ulloa Cellars in Paso Robles! We will be making a mini ceramic Chiminea to burn incense! You will learn the basics of working with clay using the pinch pot and coiling method and decorating using stamps and other tools. Adriana Lemus will guide you through this intro to clay workshop and Nancy from Ulloa Cellars will provide you with wine all night!
The $75 fee includes cone 5 speckled clay, all materials and tools to use during the workshop, stamps and tools for decorating, glaze and firing, instruction by experienced ceramic artists, and your first glass of wine(for 21+)! Once your piece is created, you will leave it with the instructor where she will take it back to her studio in San Luis Obispo to be fired, glazed (painted), and fired a second time. This process takes about 4-5 weeks. When complete, your piece will be brought back to Ulloa Cellars to be picked up.
Adriana Lemus was born and raised on the Central Coast and has been working with ceramics for 16 years. She studied art at UC Berkeley and has been running her own business for the past 7 years. Adriana creates functional and non-functional ceramic vessels that are made to connect with the soul. Adriana teaches private throwing lessons in her backyard studio, sells her work at local Makers Markets, online, and is currently working on commission work for restaurants, hotels, spas, and homes.
My name is Nancy Ulloa and I am the Winemaker, Owner & Boss Lady of Ulloa Cellars. Ulloa Cellars is a tale of passion for a dream and the manifestation of the hard work involved in the process. I moved to Paso Robles from the Bay Area in 2017 with the burning desire to learn the art of winemaking. For the last few years, I have gained an invaluable amount of knowledge from various respected winemakers/mentors who have eagerly welcomed me to this community. Fast forward 6 years, I am about to release my fourth vintage of Ulloa Cellars. Established in 2019 my journey started with the creation of my first wine, Grüner Veltliner. Backed up with lots of supporting vibes, Baby Grüner was a huge success leading to the expansion of my current project in 2022. With endless gratitude and humbleness, I hope you enjoy these wines as much as I enjoyed the journey of their creation.
