About this Event

Lead Ranger: Steph Rodgers Mobile: 07734 389301

Our community tree nursery is based off Winchmore Hill in High Wycombe, and we will grow native trees and shrubs from locally harvested seeds throughout the Chilterns. It is staffed by Chiltern Rangers but we also need the help of our skilled and trained volunteers as well as people of all ages and abilities from the wider community.

Transport & Address:

Meet us on site at 10am. We will be working at the new Chiltern Rangers Community Tree Nursery. We are located just behind FEC Heliports - click here for a visual.

The address is Fagnall Farm Barns, Fagnall Lane, Winchmore Hill, Amersham, HP7 0PQ. Parking is limited. Please park considerately and car share where possible or advise us if you need a lift from depot.

Please can we ask everyone to arrive on time to ensure you do not miss the health & safety and task briefing. If you are late and the session has already started, you may not be able to join. Thank you.

You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket!

The Task:

We would love your help to build raised beds, move stock, sow seeds, W**d and water and we hope there will be time for painting and getting the inside of the polytunnel sorted.

Timings (please note these timings are approximate):

10.00: Arrival on site. Task and safety briefing

10.15: Work begins

11.30: Tea & coffee break

13.00: Lunch - please bring your own

15.30: Work finishes, time to go home!

What to Bring:

Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.

Long trousers are advisable as there is thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.

Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. You may want a hat and suncream if it's sunny.

Please bring plenty of fluids. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.

Access: The tree nursery is all on level ground and accessible for all. There are no disabled toilet facilties on site.

Volunteering and COVID:

Please do not attend sessions if you have tested positive for COVID or if you have COVID symptoms e.g. a new continuous cough, a high temperature, a loss of, or change in your normal sense of taste or smell.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you want to discuss anything further.
