Friends of Dundee City Archives Present "CHILDREN OF THE CITY (1944)".This is a half-hour government wartime drama documentary entitled "Children of the City", highlighting problems of child delinquency in Scotland, it was filmed in Aberdeen and Glasgow but mostly in Dundee.
Starting with a trio of boy actors caught by real Dundee bobbies breaking into a Hilltown pawnshop, the fate of each of the boys is followed through juvenile court and probation. The mother of Dundee boxer Dick McTaggart is played the mother of the child visiting a Child Guidance Clinic. Includes wartime shots of a Dundee devoid of traffic.
