About this Event

We are delighted to be delivering our Annual Conference on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 May 2025 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central.

The Annual Conference will once again bring together diverse voices from across the children’s sector to share best practice, explore innovative ideas and build on our collective aim of creating a country where children and young people have an equal chance to flourish.

The programme of keynotes speeches, workshops and a panel discussion will unpack issues relating to UNCRC incorporation, education and learning, additional support needs, equality and diversity and mental health. In addition, there will be a specific strand that flows through the conference focussing on The Promise and the activity happening across the sector to meet its ambitions – particularly in light of 2025 being the halfway point of The Promise’s ten-year lifetime.

What to expect?

- 25+ workshops

- 40+ exhibitors

- An expert panel discussion

- Networking opportunities

- A conference that incorporates children and young people’s views each step of the way, through our children and young people’s advisory group, Changing our World, and the wider participation children and young people.

Who is contributing?
The programme will evolve over the coming months, and we’re delighted to announce involvement from the following people;

- Nicola Killean, Children and Young People's Commissioner Scotland. Co-chair.

- Juliet Harris, Director of Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights). Keynote speaker.

If you require any adjustments to assist your learning, whether they be about course materials or delivery format, please do contact us at [email protected] to discuss.

Covid Considerations

While the government has lifted restrictions, we recognise that the virus is still with us.

With that in mind, we have introduced an interim response: we ask that if you are feeling unwell with Covid symptoms or test positive, you do not attend so that the virus is not spread.

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to offer refunds if you are unable to attend an event due to Covid.

However, in these circumstances, we will offer you a place at an alternative event.

If you develop symptoms and/or test positive within 3 days of attending an event with Children in Scotland we ask that you email us at [email protected] so we may notify attendees of exposure.

Cancellation Policy

As a charity, Children in Scotland must cover the running costs of delivering events. We are therefore not in a position to offer refunds except under extenuating circumstances, in which case an administration fee would be applied.
